Trajan’s Forum is located between two hills – Capitoline and Quirinal. Today, apart from ancient ruins with the Trajan’s Column in the foreground, there are also two churches: the Church of Our Lady of Loreto from 16th century (on the left) and the Church of the Most Holy Name of Mary (on the right) that was built a bit later in the Baroque style. The Trajan’s statue was knocked off the column in 392 by the first Christians and today the column is occupied by the statue of St. Peter that was sculpted in 16th century.
