Plaka is one of the oldest districts of the Greek capital and at the same time has a highly developed tourist infrastructure. The district is charming due to narrow, stone lanes full of pedestrians, where visitors can taste local delicacies in one of many restaurants and taverns. Most of them offer a possibility of enjoying your meal outdoors. Traffic is not allowed in a large part of Plaka, which favors slow walks through an exceptionally clean and well-maintained area. Within the district, there are historic mosques and a monument of Lysicrates from the 4th century BC.
