Violin is a string music instrument, which belongs to a group of the bowed. The violin’s soundboard is built of two slightly convex plates that are connected with each other. The top part is made of spruce wood, whereas the bottom part of sycamore one. There are 4 strings in the violin, which in the past were made of properly treated animals' intestines. Today strings are made mostly of various metal alloys. In order to play this instrument it is necessary to use a bow - a wooden rod, on which there is natural bristle (from a horsetail). The craftsmen who produce violins are called luthiers.
